The Fulton House Bed & Breakfast

Your memorable Portland vacation starts here.

The Fulton House

There's nothing quite like the relaxed feel of an old-school bed and breakfast – especially when the home has a tale to tell. Although the B&B exudes the charm of days gone by, we are anything but dated.

Beauty in every room.

The Fulton House is defined by its uniqueness, and our guest rooms are no exception. We have four charming rooms, no two exactly alike. All have private baths and free wireless internet access. A complimentary breakfast is also included.

The Fulton House’s Historic Start in Portland, Oregon

The name, John's Landing, refers to the B.P. John Furniture Company. The area was first known for industrial structures. The furniture company, along with two architects John W. Storrs and John D. Gray, privately converted the area into a residential paradise. They included mostly residential developments with commercial accents. The area was previously known as Fulton. Today, the neighborhood is most well known as John's Landing, but sometimes can also be called Corbett, SW Portland, Willamette Park neighborhood, and the Macadam district.

The John’s Landing area on the west bank of the Willamette River south of downtown had many riverfront lumber mills and furniture manufacturing plants at one time. It was transitioning from an industrial area to predominantly waterfront apartment, condominium and retail neighborhoods in 1975. SW Macadam Ave. is the main arterial heading south and SW Pendleton St. is the first street we see coming in from from the right.

Built in the late 19th century The Fulton House was originally a bordello situated on a log raft in the Willamette River. A century ago the house was lifted, placed on round logs and dragged by a team of to its present location. The Fulton House, derives from the small town of Fulton, which was annexed into Portland many decades ago.
