Portland, nicknamed Bridge City, is an incredibly beautiful and fascinating city to visit any time of the year, but it’s especially magical during the fall. The summer heat has dissipated and cooler weather has moved in, bringing with it the annual changing of colors, along with Portland’s much loved flannels, sweaters, boots, and beards. Fall is the perfect time to get outside and take a hike in any of Portland’s magnificent parks or trail networks; it’s harvest season at Oregon’s regional wineries, which are an easy day trip from the Portland area; and it’s a special season for Portland’s artisanal brewers as well. Soon enough, it will time to transition from fall into another merry holiday season in Portland, which is almost as exciting.
