The Fulton House Story

Built in the late 19th century The Fulton House was originally a bordello situated on a log raft in the Willamette River. A century ago the house was lifted, placed on round logs and dragged by a team of horses to its present location. The Fulton House, derives from the small town of Fulton, which was annexed into Portland many decades ago.

The Fulton House Bed & Breakfast is a historic lodging establishment that offers guests a unique, comfortable, and personal experience with overnight accommodations; a gourmet breakfast served each morning in our formal dining room; and much, much more. The Fulton House B&B is a perfect place for a romantic getaway, for adventurous travelers, and for those wanting to “live like a local” in our fair city.

We are conveniently located in the south part of the city, one block from the beautiful Willamette Park on the Willamette River. We are just minutes to downtown Portland. The Fulton House B&B is a terrific place to stay while you are exploring Portland, whether you are taking in the local sites, kayaking down the Willamette River, tasting local wines in the Willamette valley, visiting the Gorge and Mt. Hood, visiting family and friends, attending local events, or shopping or conducting business in the city. 

The magnificent Willamette Waterfront Greenway, nationally and rightfully renowned for its beauty, begins in Willamette Park and continues north almost to downtown Portland. Depending on the season and weather, you can play tennis, ride bikes, picnic, kayak, sail, and fish while enjoying the diverse river’s pleasures.

Should you need to visit the medical facilities at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) while staying at the Fulton House B&B, you are just minutes away from the tram or by car to the facility itself. You will also find Lewis & Clark College, Reed College and Portland State University just short distances away.
